Hookups, awkward conversations and late night calls!

This is what comes to our mind when we think of Tinder but recently something unexpected took place when an advertising agency in Ireland came forward to collaborate with Tinder for raising a social issue of sex trafficking.

It was a very unique way to communicate the issues that almost 2.4 million people around the globe are the victim of this social injustice.

Users were shown a series of images. Initially a normal picture was shown and on swiping right, some bruised pictures with a message were displayed.

Similarly, various other brands creatively collaborated with this dating application to grab people’s attention such as:

  • DOMINOS UK

They launched a “Fancy Date with Dominos “ trend on Valentine’s Day and claimed that only pizza can kill the pain of being single and therefore decided to give away free pizzas to Tinder users who matched with them on 14th February.

  • AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL AUSTRALIA

Just like the one in Ireland, a social campaign in Australia was also initiated on International Women’s day through Tinder, when a Non-profit organization teamed up with the brand to raise awareness for an issue related to forced marriages.

For this purpose, Tinder users were encouraged to change their profile pictures, supporting the campaign.

Also, whenever they used to login, they were randomly shown such pictures, directing them to some external links for providing more information on the agenda .This campaign turned out to be a big hit as the website got a huge number of clicks and a lot of people signed up and became members and also their issue grabbed attention of thousands of people.

  • ANIMAL RESCUE

How would you react if you opened tinder and saw an adorable puppy seeking for a match?

Isn't it a heart-melting? Yes, because people may not be willing to walk an extra mile for you, but a dog would.

Tinder got something exciting like this for the dog lovers when it came out with an amazing campaign in New-York. It gave dog lovers something to look forward to. Every time you open the app, a golden retriever or black lab puppy will appear, asking for a home. You can organize a brief walk with the dog to see if you want to take that relationship to the next level by adopting it.

Surprisingly, more than 1500 matches were made just in the first few hours of the campaign and a lot of adoptions were done but yes what would happen if someone swipes left instead of right? Do such people really exist?
